The
"International DanceSport Federation" (IDSF) is the World
Federation of all national Dancesport Federations and the sole administer
of the Dancesport. IDSF represents a hundred thousand dancesport athletes
and organizes competitions of all levels around the world. Dancesport
competitions already took place back in 1920, although the IDSF was
only founded in 1957.
Nowadays IDSF groups 84 affiliated countries out of 5 continents.
The IDSF is managed by a Presidium of 12 members, under the chairmanship
of Carlos Freitag from Spain. The other members come from the
Germany, Finland, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia
and Japan.
The "Belgische DansSport Federatie" (BDSF) is the only Belgian
federation membre of the IDSF. |
